Paris – Le Coq

On the 13th of April 2017, After we visited the Palace of Versailles, we drove back to Paris and it was already almost dinner time, We decided to go and eat near Trocadero which is where you can get the best view and best pictures to take of the Tour Le Eiffel (Eiffel Tower). We ate at a place called Le Coq which was on the corner near the roundabout, we ate here last time we came to Paris in the Summer for lunch and remembered the food was pretty good so this time we decided to go and eat here for dinner. We decided to sit outside because it wasn’t that cold and if you were cold there were heaters above. The only problem you will have if you are a non smoker is that most people who sit outside are smokers and if you don’t like eating while having someone smoking next to you then maybe this wouldn’t be a great idea. The staff are friendly and speak good english. We got some free bread and butter to eat and I had ordered as a started the Shrimp Dumplings which were very good as I am obsessed with Dumplings, as main course I ordered a Caesar Salad which was good but too big and I could barely finish it. But of course I had to have a dessert because one of them caught my eye which I have never seen before. It was called ”Notre Paris-Brest” meaning ”Our Paris-Brest”. I was not sure what it was but I wanted to try it and it was a sort of sugar bread with cream in it, I also ordered a Fresh mint tea but when they brought it, there was only a tea bag which I do not call fresh mint tea but then I opened the silver cup which the water was in and realised there was fresh mint tea in it, but still was not sure why they had brought a tea bag. Overall It was a good meal and I would come again and the atmosphere was nice, also when you sit outside you see people walking by which is nice to see. I would rate it a 5 out of 5

Paris – Le Scheffer

On the 13th of April 2017, When arriving in Paris for Easter, We were not sure were to eat and find a typical french restaurant for dinner, our hotel receptionist suggested us a restaurant called ”Le Scheffer”. We decided to go and try this place which was near ”Trocadero” but a little further down the road. When we got there we thought it was shut or shut down because there were typical french curtains around the windows but once we opened the door, we realised it wasn’t shut. We had reserved a table and sat down, The staff are very friendly and spoke pretty good english. There wasn’t many people but we had arrived at 7:30PM and when we left around 9:30PM, it was completely full. The menu is also in english so you would not struggle trying to understand the menu. I ordered as starter the bone marrow which is a typical french dish and tasted very good. Sadly the snails were sold out which I would have ordered. As main course I ordered a steak with some fries. The portions come quite big and that’s why when we were there we realised most people only ordered a main course. That’s why sadly I didn’t feel like I could have a dessert. But the atmosphere is very french and have the typical french table cloths. I would definitely come back again, I would rate this a 5 out of 5
